Strategic Territory Game

Claim the board. Protect your anchors. Break the route.

Crown & Laurel is a strategic territory game built around simple moves and visible momentum. Players choose glowing starting squares, roll for movement distance, then expand across the board by moving up, down, left, right, or staying in place.

The goal is to anchor more than half the board. Pieces become anchored when they connect back to one of their protected corner strongholds. Loose pieces can be captured, but anchored pieces are protected, creating a clear push-and-pull between expansion, defense, and cutting off your opponent’s routes.

Crown & Laurel supports solo play against an adaptive royal opponent and local two-player pass-and-play. The royal opponent starts approachable so new players can learn the board, then becomes more challenging as the player gains experience. Over time, it watches broad play patterns such as preferred directions, board areas, and win/loss momentum, then increases pressure without changing the core rules.

The game is designed for quick understanding and deeper replay: every move changes the board state, every anchor matters, and the match can swing as players break through loose blockades or secure connected territory.
